The most common type of commercial roof is a low-slope roof system which usually requires a single ply roofing application. The term “single-ply roofing” may be used for any of several types of compounds manufactured into flexible sheets, which use various methods of attachment to the roof deck. Because of the many options and combinations available, these roofs are versatile and can be adapted to suit most all low-slope roofing needs.
The most common roof is EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer). This material is commonly called rubber roofing. There are several other types of membranes which fall into three basic types: Thermoset, Thermoplastic, and Modified Bitumen. Each roof type has different application needs and its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

After growing up in Sarasota and graduating from University of South Florida, Russell has worked in the Construction and Real Estate industry for over 15 years. In addition to Great Space Roofing & Construction, he is also the founder and owner of Great Space Management & Leasing, a Commercial Real Estate Firm specializing in Brokerage, Property Management, and Leasing of retail and multifamily properties. Russell holds licenses as a Certified General Contractor, Certified Roofing Contractor, Real Estate Broker, and US Coast Guard Master Captain. As the son of parents who are also both Contractors and Real Estate Brokers, he likes to say “I cut my teeth in this business, quite literally". A resident of St. Petersburg, a husband and father, Russell understands the trust his customers place in him to help them build, improve, and repair their largest investments while keeping their family safe by never cutting corners.
